On January 19th, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 36 year old Steven Aguonie of Wellington Street East for weapons offences.
At approximately 9:40 p.m. officers attended the accused’s residence regarding a noise complaint.
Officers knocked on the door and when the accused answered the door he was pointing a handgun at the officers.
Officers directed the male to drop the weapon and after several commands he complied.
The accused was safely taken into custody and the weapon was seized.
Upon a close inspection, officers found that the item was a very realistic BB gun.
The accused has been charged with one count of pointing a firearm and 2 counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
He was held for bail court.

He is lucky he didn’t get shot and thank God we didn’t lose one of our Officers.
He’s lucky he didnt get shot
Go ahead, Punk, make my day!
You gots to wonder if he had suicide by cop bouncing around in his little peanut.
Maybe u right Cole… it was a noise complaint before 10pm. And it’s not like he was a kid, he’s in his late 30s. Especially that he didn’t drop it right away when he saw it was cops. Really pushing your luck having to be told more than once. Cops want to make it home alive after their shift too.
Only in Canada. USA would have had him dead on site. Probably the greatest part of being Canadian. Job well done
crazy!!
Should have shot him. Please don’t let people like this reproduce.
Wow. Now THAT is how you get yourself shot. What an insane thing to do!! They don’t know it’s a BB gun! Good on the police to handle that the way they did. Considering they had to give him SEVERAL commands! This could have been a horrible tragedy.
It only took several commands… lol
Now that’s a smart idea
