Pulling up with the new gear!

Participants bundled up to shred powder this chilly Saturday morning with Rivercity Motorsports at Silver Creek Golf Course.

This event allowed participants to demo brand new 2018 snow machines, and included a scrumptious lunch at Silver Creek, as well as $10 gas cards to The Zone.

Rivercity provided all of this free of charge – all participants needed was their trail permits and some warm winter gear!

Sleds zipped and zoomed through the snow-covered trails, and riders of all ages came out for the fun.

“Nineteen different machines are available to test,” Gerald Buchanan, Service Manager at Rivercity explained, “including the Polaris 120 Indy, Polaris Ranger with tracks, Polaris Scrambler with Tracks, and Arctic Cat. There was also a variety of sleds, including 2-up machines for families, trail machines, utility machines, and kids’ sleds.”

It seemed like there was the perfect something for everyone. And judging by the age range of riders who came out for the fun, and the volume of sleds zipping and zooming through, I would say Rivercity provided just that.

“Sixty participants sledded the trails from Rivercity to Silver Creek, and about fifteen people drove in for the demo event,” Andrea Hill, manager of Rivercity, told SaultOnline, “there was also about ten or so kids who came out.”

A gust of adrenaline and winter fun for the whole family.

This was the first year that Rivercity executed this type of demo event, and participants loved the opportunity to try out the brand-new equipment from their favourite snow sport brands.

Staff and riders alike are hopeful that they have will have the opportunity to showcase and demo machines in the future.

“Polaris was a key sponsor, giving us the money to make the demo happen, and other sponsors including Gamma Sports, Motovan and Kimpex provided prizes to make the event possible,” Hill explained.
