Snow Squall Threat Remains North of the Sault

Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Lake effect snow squalls are expected to continue for a few hours while slowly drifting southward and weakening later this afternoon into the evening.

Under the heaviest snow squalls, local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are possible and visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow.

Web cams in the Montreal River area have been showing very low visibility in heavy snow this morning.

Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Road closures are possible.
