Two Males Arrested for Break and Enter

break and enter

On February 18th, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 2 males for break and enter.

It is alleged that just after 5:00 p.m. the accused broke into a residence in the area Caesar Road and Angelina Avenue.  Upon arrival officers observed 43 year old Harry King of no fixed address leaving the area carrying items that had been taken from the residence.  At the time, a second male, 34 year old Ryan St. Jean of Woodward Avenue was waiting for the accused in a nearby vehicle.  Mr. St. Jean was taken into custody and charged with one count of break and enter and one count of theft under $5,000.

When officers approached Mr. King he fled on foot.

Officers pursued him and he was taken into custody in the parking lot of a business in the 300 block of Lake Street.  During the arrest, the accused was pushing officers and on two occasions he attempted to disarm an officer by grabbing his Conducted Energy Weapon.

Mr. King was taken into custody and has been charged with;

One count of Break and Enter,
One count of disarming a police officer,
One count of resisting arrest,
One count of assault police,
One count of possession of property obtained by crime,
One count of breach of probation; and,
One count of breach of recognizance

He was held for bail court.

  1. Wouldn’t “disarming a police officer” require a level of success in said disarming? Otherwise wouldn’t it be “attempted disarming of a police officer?”
