UPDATE: Family and friends of the man who suffered life threatening stab wounds on January 12th, are thankful to everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
He has fought hard and pulled through! He is off life support, breathing on is own and now even out of the ICU. All tubes and apparatus have been removed and he is awake after three weeks of medical sedation.
As anyone can imagine after being asleep for three weeks, he is a bit grumpy and disoriented. Nevertheless close friends, who are restricted from visiting due to dangers of infection, are thrilled that they have received a couple of texts from him.
Sault police have not released any further information to the public about the incident.
UPDATE: (Jan 23rd) Family and friends of the victim have been on a roller coaster of emotions since their loved one was stabbed in the chest and hand on January 12th on Wellington Street E at Abbott.
The victim has struggled through unimaginable health scares since being brought by ambulance to the hospital. His condition will improve, then some complications arise setting him back. One complication would be stabilized, only to face yet another hours later.
He is still in critical condition and fighting new complications, his vitals are remaining stable at this time and he remains under sedation.
Family and friends ask that you keep him in your prayers.

(January 13th) SaultOnline has learned Sault Ste. Marie police services are investigating a stabbing that took place late Friday at the corner of Abbott St. and the 100 block of Wellington E.
Our sources tell us a male was stabbed in the chest area and taken to hospital. Sault Ste. Marie Police Services confirms that the victim was taken to hospital with “potential life-threatening injuries”
