Sault Ste. Marie got a taste for some of Ontario’s best beer this Saturday at the annual Sault Ste. Marie Festival of Beer – Part 007 ‘GoldenEye PA.’
It marked the 7th annual beer fest in the Sault, and with 600 people in attendance – a sold out event – it was a huge, foamin’, hoppy, ice cold glass of success!
This year’s beer fest hosted 16 beer vendors and between 50 and 55 different beers from across the province.
Stephen Alexander, owner of LopLops, one of the beer fest organizers, told SaultOnline, “We try to get a little something for everybody. Not everyone that comes is a craft beer drinker, but if they come, it means they are obviously interested in that industry. We try to bring beers that can help transition people into craft beers and get them connected with different breweries whose products they may not have tried before.”
As I walked around the packed Bushplane Museum, buzzing with excitement and conversation as the warm sun (finally) shone down through the hangar windows, I saw beer-based drinks of a wide variety.
From pilsners, ales, lagers, porters, stouts, ciders, there was something to satisfy all kinds of taste buds and preferences.
If you didn’t make it this year, make sure to get your tickets early next year for a fun-filled day of supporting local and regional breweries and tasting the most indulgent beers!
