The Caverners, Canada’s premiere Beatles tribute band, ‘Let It Be’ last night for the very first time in Sault Ste. Marie!
Sandy Vine (Paul McCartney), Rick Labrie (George Harrison), Michael Wainwright (John Lennon), and Doug Boudreau (Ringo Starr) have spent the last 24 years performing together, rocking full costume, makeup, and English accent, to match The Beatles unique signature look and demeanour.
And they were kind enough to give SaultOnline an exclusive backstage interview.
Let me tell you – it was nothing but smiles, Beatles puns, and witty jokes with these guys, whose laughter, sense of humour, and passion for the Beatles was a refreshing breath of fresh air.
Bursting with vibrant energy, the band hardly came out of their Beatles’ characters.
Making their Sault debut, The Caverners saw Beatles fans of all ages ‘Come Together.’
And for a great cause, too.
Proceeds from tonight’s the concert, played at Korah Collegiate Theatre, went to the Ontario Chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
This non-profit organizations grants wishes to children with life threatening diseases and illnesses, helping the children and their families to fulfill their dreams and find laughter and happiness, even in the darkest of times.
Following the show for the Children’s Wish Foundation in the Sault, The Caverners will be heading down to Sudbury in support of Diabetes Canada, and then to North Bay for another Children’s Wish Foundation fundraiser.
We hope to see The Caverners ‘Get Back’ to the Sault again to bring families and friends together with the power of the Beatles’ trans-generational music.
