City of Sault Ste. Marie Honours Humboldt Broncos

Civic Centre

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2018 04 09) – A book of condolences for the victims of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy is available for the public to sign at the Civic Centre, main floor lobby (Level 2), 99 Foster Drive.

The Civic Centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The book will be available for signing until Friday, April 13, 2018, after which it will be sent to the City of Humboldt as an expression of sympathy. The City will also be lowering its flags to half-mast at all civic facilities to acknowledge the lives lost.

“This terrible tragedy has touched Canadians across the country,” said Mayor Christian
Provenzano. “The City of Sault Ste. Marie is lowering its flags out of respect for and in
recognition of the community of Humboldt, the Humboldt Broncos and all of the family and friends who are grieving and mourning such a terrible loss. The City of Sault Ste. Marie mourns for and stands with them during this incredibly difficult time.”

The City of Sault Ste. Marie wishes to thank Arthur Funeral Home for printing and donating the book. Arthur Funeral Home will also have a copy available for signing.

  1. Why are people constantly referring to the Broncos as if they are a person that needs support. Regardless of the hockey team being a common denominator, these are families that are grieving.
