On Camera: Theft From The West End Metro


Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are asking for your assistance in identifying a suspect in a theft.

On the 18th of March 2018 at approximately 4:17 pm a male attended at the Metro food store located at 275 Second Line West.

The unidentified male proceeded to take several grocery items and proceeded out the store without paying for the items.

The suspect was pursued by a store employee to the parking lot where the suspect dropped the basket and fled the area.

This incident was caught on camera and can be viewed on our YouTube page by searching “SSM & Algoma Crime Stoppers”.

If you can identify this person and your tip leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward.

  1. It’s not right to be a thief in the first place, but what I don’t get is how come these thieves are so oblivious of the fact that there are cameras everywhere, and they will end up getting snagged no matter what!!

  2. Wow pretty Bad you gotta steal from a grocery store, that takes away from those people who work there, and the owner, think about that next time you steal! Get a job you bum and pay like all the rest of us for the food you want.

  3. Why wait weeks or months to post these videos?
    It seems many of these stores would rather lose some merch (at our cost) than pay for adequate security to stop these daily grab and dash occurrences. Maybe stop shopping there until they wise up?
