(ESPANOLA, ON)-On Wednesday April 18, 2018 Manitoulin-Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 17 in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ontario.
At approximately 12:50 a.m. police observed a traffic violation and conducted a stop. The officer observed a radar detector within the pick-up truck.
As a result, Kyle OWEN, age 24 from Grand Prairie, Alberta has been charged with:
Drive Motor Vehicle with Speed Measuring Warning Device contrary to section 79(2) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The set fine for this offence is $170, three demerit points attached to offenders’ drivers licence, and your warning device will be seized.
Manitoulin-Espanola OPP remind motorists that a speed measuring warning device means any device or equipment designed or intended for use in a motor vehicle to warn the driver of the presence of speed measuring equipment in the vicinity.
