Theft From Vehicles On The Increase

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has seen an increase in calls for service regarding thefts from vehicles.  The thefts have been reported in all areas of the community however, there has been a higher concentration in the East End of town and the McNabb and Pim Street area.

In a number of cases, vehicle windows have been broken to gain access to items inside.  An important crime prevention strategy is to ensure that you remove all valuables from your vehicles while they are unattended.

This includes removing items such as loose change, cell phones, purses and wallets.  Citizens are encouraged to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to report any suspicious activity or any thefts that may occur.
