Local television is returning to Sault Ste. Marie May 22 at 8am with a new live morning program, Mornings with..Lou-Anne & Tim.
ONNtv is set to launch to all streaming devices including smart tv’s, Internet equipped televisions, smart phones , pc’s and tablets. The free streaming service will feature non-stop local and national news coverage, live interviews and discussion panels, debates and non-news local programming along with a schedule of classic television shows such as the Lucy Show, Beverly Hillbillies , Bonanza and other favourites plus weekend movies.

The main feature of the new “channel” will be live breaking news and constant local updates throughout the day and night, 7 days a week.
ONNtv is owned and operated by Superior Media and also operates SaultOnline.com and MyAlgoma.ca The media company added over 20 positions with the addition of ONNtv.

Despite being a streaming station, ONNtv will operate much like a traditional broadcast station with a linear schedule running live from 8am to 11pm. Video On Demand content will also be made available to users on select content.
To watch ONNtv, you can view it from the SaultOnline.com and MyAlgoma.ca sites as well as streaming bundle services TikiLive.com and Roku. Apps are currently being developed.

ONNtv will feature a mix of familiar local faces and new ones too. Lou-Anne Young and Tim Murphy co-host the morning show Monday through Friday , Young will also anchor the daily news while Murphy will host ONNpoint , a news talk show airing Tuesday through Friday evenings.
Randy Russon, a well known Sault Ste. Marie broadcaster will offer live breaking sports news along with Matt Stefano who anchors ONNtv news each weekend.
Tami Rydall is no stranger to television screens and will be covering live events each and every week. Not to mention her locally produced soap opera “Tami” will also air Sunday afternoons.

Alex Parr brings you the news each evening from 5 to 11pm. Alex is a recent journalism graduate and is also from Sault Ste. Marie.”Being apart of ONNtv is not only important to us and the city of Sault Ste. Marie, but there is a great sense of pride in it as well.” Parr said, “The moment I walked in the door, the importance of community was noticed immediately. For someone who was born and raised in the Sault, having a chance to give back and make an impact, delivering news from the first local station we have had in years is beyond humbling. I am beyond excited to be apart of the great team we have here to provide fellow Sooites with news tailored specifically for them.”

Megan Pounder moved to the Sault from Southern Ontario to join the station as a reporter anchor with ONNtv, look for Megan during the week and weekends with live reports and stories.” Being part of the team that is bringing local tv back to the Sault is an exciting opportunity” Pounder said
Riley Smith joined SaultOnline.com earlier this year and will also be a big part of the overall ONNtv line-up. Lynne Brown is no stranger to the pages of SaultOnline.com covering various news stories over the year. Lynne will handle the overnight news and also take on her role as Associate Producer for the morning news broadcasts.

News programming continues in the evening with Tim Murphy and ONNpoint. Each evening Murphy will anchor the one hour show focusing on important local topics and news.
Local business woman Katherine G. MacRae hosts the weekly current affairs program, Perspective. “I’m very excited and proud to be a part of a dynamic, highly skilled team of professionals at ONN TV that will be bringing you news, content, current events, issues and programming you care about” MacRae said.
ONNtv has also announced a televised debate with all the candidates to air Wednesday May 30 at 8pm. ONNtv will also provide election night coverage on June 7th .
