Two Sault Ste. Marie Ontario men are dead following a plane crash in Sault Michigan Saturday.

The two men were aboard a single engine plane that stalled and crashed to the ground after take-off Saturday morning around 10am at the Sault Ste. Marie Municipal airport.

The two men, whose names have not been released, were dead at the scene.

Foul play is not a factor in the crash.

Meanwhile, the airport remains closed but is expected to re-open Sunday afternoon.

FAA is assisting National Transportation Safety Board with an investigation.

  1. Apparently this was a home made airplane with a car engine in it, a very unfortunate thing to happen during a routine outing on a beautiful day. Condolences to the families involved.
