Roberta Bondar Pavilion will be the place to be on Canada Day. Celebrations begin at 2pm with Opening Ceremonies followed by a full day of entertainment on the stage.
Cindy Cook from Polka Dot Door get the entertainment line up started at 3pm followed by the Ron Gutman Magic Show.
The community will get a sneak peak of the Musical Comedy Guild’s fall production of Mamma Mia when the cast leads take to the stage at 4:40pm.
Entertainment continues throughout the afternoon until 8pm when Mustang Heart takes the stage until dusk.That’s when it will be time for the highlight of the day the Fireworks display.
The celebrations won’t limited to the stage there will be free children’s activities, from carnival games to balloon animals, face painting to clay crafts.
There will also be a variety of food vendors as well as the park concession and ice cream shop.
You don’t have to wait until 2pm to start celebrating, The Hub Trail Festival runs from 10am until 2pm.
You can “Walk, Ride, or Roll’ along the John Rowswell Hub Trail visiting one or all of the 15 passport stations along the way. There will be activities give a ways, and treats along the way.
This free non-competitive event is aimed at encouraging community residents and visitors to discover the benefits of using the Hub Trail that connects many significant points of interest throughout the city.
Drop your passport of at the Jumpstart Bicycle Rodeo located under the Algoma Farmers’ Market tent following your visit to at least one passport station for your chance to win prizes.
The Jumpstart Bicycle Rodeo is a skills testing bicycle course for kids between 2 and 12 years of age. Participants in the course will be entered into a draw for a new bike courtesy of Canadian Tire.
Passports have to dropped before 2pm, draws will be made at 3pm under the Roberta Bondar tent, winners will have to be present to collect their prizes.
