On the June 7, 2018 at approximately 9:25 p.m. members of the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Mission Road, Goulais Township, Ontario.
Upon arrival officers were advised the lone male occupant was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Jarritt Varcoe, age 24, of Goulais Township, Ontario was charged with:
Careless driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA),
Operate unsafe vehicle contrary to section 84 of the HTA,
Drive motor vehicle, no permit contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the HTA,
Drive motor vehicle, no plates contrary to section 7(1)(b)(i) of the HTA,
Operate a motor vehicle without insurance contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on the July 4, 2018.
