Give Your Input to Shape the Sault

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has launched Shape the Sault to create a new Official Plan for our city. The Official Plan will guide local decision making on land use, development and public infrastructure over the next 20 years.

A public information session will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Civic Centre (Level 3, 99 Foster Drive, Sault Ste. Marie) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This session will focus on Sault Ste. Marie’s natural environment and natural hazards.

“Community input is a critical component in creating this plan and planning staff are currently
collecting valuable input on the project from community members and organizations”, says Don McConnell, Director of Planning. “Tuesday’s information session will focus on providing
information to the public about the City’s role in environmental stewardship of Sault Ste. Marie’s natural environment, and to provide a chance for the public to share their ideas for further environmental policies and actions that the City can adopt”.

Topics to be explored at the information session include protecting natural heritage features such as wetlands and wildlife habitat, addressing natural hazards such as flooding and erosion, and ensuring the quality of our sourcewater and natural vegetation.

All are welcome to attend this session and discuss this project with City staff.

  1. Natural hazards include the neglected for decades local roads with their massive adjoining potholes that no one cares or wants to drive on unless they really have to, and the rat and mice and bird and bat infested old hospital buildings with the windows smashed out that are growing more ugly and toxic by the day. Before you worry about new problems clean up the old and festering existing ones! Where is the owner of these eyesore buildings and why is he getting away with this?

    • Remember , David Rivard and his crew of anti family the destroyed many children and fathers. They were politacal opportunists ,so many fathers and children still suffer from their evil .
