Laughter in the Morning


We all know that it feels good to laugh but did you know there are actual health benefits to laughter.

Certified Laugh Leader Susan McLachlan joined Tim Murphy and Lou-Anne Young on “Mornings with Lou-Anne and Tim” to talk about the benefits of “mirthful laughter.”

McLachlan was in town to lead a Laughter Yoga workshop as part of the WTF Festival.

McLachlan told Murphy that laughing actually has aerobic benefits; it decreases blood pressure, increases circulation, and lowers stress. “20 seconds of laughter as the same effect as 3-5 minutes of rowing” according to McLachlan and ten minutes of mirthful laughter can provide two hours of pain relief.
