O’Rourke invited to Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp

With a total of 111 players invited to Canada’s national under-17 development camp next month in Calgary, there will be one Soo Greyhound prospect heading over there.

It was announced Saturday that Soo Greyhounds 2018 first round pick Ryan O’Rourke has been invited to take part in this year’s under-17 development camp.

O’Rourke spent the 2017-2018 season with the Vaughan Kings Minor Midget AAA club, scoring 12 times and setting up 32 others through 55 regular season games and also served as an assistant captain with the club.

The Pickering, Ontario native became the first defenceman to be drafted in the first round by the Soo Greyhounds since Darnell Nurse (2011).

The camp will run from July 21st – 27th at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
