Short Track Auto Racing Back at Laird Township!


Laird Township in Northern Ontario will hear the engines roar after a two-year hiatus with short track auto racing returning to the area on Friday, June 22nd. The event will consist of four divisions taking to the track, with 4 Cylinders, ABC, Modifieds and Super Late Models. They will hit the Superior International Motorplex in a 7:15 p.m start for the 2018 racing season opener.

Names like Dustin Jackson, Chase Wilson, Mark Laasko, Brent Fewchuk, Rebecca Fewchuk, Josh Ware, Anthony Mannarino, John Diodati, Rob Wagner, Jerry Ross, Jacob Heimonen, Jay Palumbo, Robert Hiiemma, Dan Burns, Ted Ritchie, Steve Baraluk, Kevin Errington, Ronnie Raynor, Chris Miller, and many more will hit the 1/3 mile, d-shaped asphalt oval in the four divisions.

Superior Motorplex has the short track auto racing community buzzing about the action-packed full show on June 22nd with the best side by side racing in Northern Ontario. Fans, crews, and drivers will enjoy racing returning to the area with the grandstand gates opening at 5:30 p.m and cars taking to the track for 5:00 p.m for hot laps with the green flag dropping at 7:15 p.m.

There will be no charge for camping on Thursday the 21st and Friday the 22nd for the 2018 season opener, allowing fans to come camping on Thursday and still through the festivities until Saturday.

Those 70+ and children under 10 get in FREE with parking behind the grandstands.

  1. What are the prices for students, adults and seniors that are 60+?
    Far too many have totally lost interest in this due to all the BS for years now. I don’t believe it will ever be the same and will close for good soon.
