SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (June 28, 2018) – The Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) Board of Directors and Staff will soon be recruiting for an Executive Director to replace its leader. Cheryl Pavoni, Executive Director of SAHF, advised the Board in the fall that she is ready for the next stage of her life, retirement, which will begin this fall, after 30 years with the fundraising organization. Under Cheryl’s direction, SAHF was able to raise the funds necessary to equip the Sault Area Hospital site on Great Northern Road and since then, purchase millions of dollars in medical equipment to allow local healthcare professionals to deliver excellent care to local patients.

“I could not have chosen a more challenging and rewarding career.   Over the years, I enjoyed building relationships with many individuals, organizations, businesses, volunteers and others in the community.  It has been a privilege to work with donors to uncover their passions and interests and fulfil their wishes in a meaningful way, to benefit our patients. I know in my heart that there is a bright future for the Hospital Foundation and I will continue to be an ambassador in the community to ensure we have quality care, close to home.” Pavoni said.

“Cheryl’s decision to retire comes with mixed feelings: while we are happy for her as she starts a new chapter of her life after tremendous dedication to the Foundation, she leaves big shoes to fill. She has had such a passion for her work and has built strong relationships with our donors and she will truly be missed by all of us.
