PORT HOPE, Ont. — Provincial police say a man is in a Toronto-area trauma centre after an industrial accident north of Port Hope, Ont.
OPP say the accident occurred Tuesday afternoon as construction workers were repairing a home. According to Today’s Northumberland reporter, Pete Fisher (via twitter), the individual was trapped under a concrete wall that had fallen at a rural farm property.
Investigators say a man suffered a serious injury when part of the building collapsed.
They say the injured worker was taken to hospital by air ambulance. His medical condition is not known at this time.
OPP say the cause of the collapse is under investigation.
The Ministry of Labour has been called to investigate.
