The Ontario Law Enforcement and Torch Run and Mac’s and Circle K convenience stores have joined forces to benefit Special Olympics. Throughout the month of July the stores will be asking customers to contribute to “Change for Champions” in support of the athletes of Special Olympics.
Customers will be asked to donate any denomination of change from their purchases at the approximately 780 stores located across the province to Champions of Special Olympics.
Special Olympics Ontario is dedicated to enriching the lives of Ontarians living in our communities with an intellectual disability through a life of sport. Over the past 49 years Special Olympics has grown from a modest program serving local athletes to becoming the world’s largest movement dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion, human dignity, and celebrating the abilities of all athletes through participation in sports.
The Mac’s/Circle K store community with the highest grossing donations in the province will host the Provincial Cheque presentation for Special Olympics Ontario. Law enforcement in that community will be invited to collect the donation cheque on behalf of Special Olympics Ontario.
