Joe Cirella has been named assistant coach of the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat.

First went Bannister. Then went Ward.

And now the third member of the Soo Greyhounds coaching staff is going to the American Hockey League too.

It was announced on Wednesday that Soo Greyhounds associate coach Joe Cirella has been named assistant coach of the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat.

The Heat are the affiliate team of the National Hockey League’s Calgary Flames.

The Hamilton, Ontario native spent six seasons with the Hounds from 2012-2018.

During his time with the Hounds, the 55 year old coached alongside Mike Stapleton (2012), Sheldon Keefe (2012-2015) and Drew Bannister (2015-2018).

With Cirella now moving to the American Hockey League, that leaves three job openings on the Greyhounds coaching staff.
