Kment joins the Cougars

He played for head coach Mike Hall during his time with the Soo North Stars, and he will now play for him again at Sault College!

The Sault College Cougars men’s hockey team have announced on Monday that goaltender Brian Kment has committed to the team for the 2018-2019 season.

Kment played with the GNML’s Soo North Stars from 2011-2013, where he helped the club win back to back GNML championships.

After two seasons with the North Stars, Kment went on to play two full seasons with the NOJHL’s Soo Thunderbirds from 2013-2015, where he helped the club win a Copeland Cup McNamara Trophy and a Dudley Hewitt Cup title in 2015.

Kment was the recipient of the NOJHL’s Team Goaltending Award back to back seasons (2014 & 2015) for allowing the least goals against during the regular season.

In 2015, Kment was also named the Soo Thunderbirds scholastic player of the year.

The 23 year old will be taking the BSCN program this fall at Sault College.
