On Thursday, the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins have announced that they have signed former Soo Greyhounds forward Bryan Moore to a one-year contract.
Last season, Moore played with the ECHL’s Allen Americans, where he led the team in goals (21), penalty minutes (218) and finished fourth in team points with 48.
The 24 year old also played 7 games last season with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda.
Moore, who was acquired by the Soo Greyhounds in a trade with the Sarnia Sting back on January 7th, 2014, went on to score 37 goals and 78 points in 86 career games with the Hounds.
Moore recorded his first and only Ontario Hockey League hat trick on February 22nd, 2014, in an 8-2 win against Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters at the Essar Centre.
In his first full season with the Greyhounds in 2014-2015, Moore helped the Hounds finish first in the Canadian Hockey League rankings and led the club in penalty minutes with 110.
At the 2015 team awards banquet, Moore was also the recipient of the team’s Humanitarian Award for outstanding contribution in the community.
Since graduating from the Hounds, the Indian Trail, North Carolina native has played professional hockey in both in the AHL and the ECHL.
The Griffins will be Moore’s fourth team in his AHL career.
