Porco gets his Chance

With Canada’s National Under-18 Selection Camp getting set to take place in a few days, it was announced on Monday that one Sooite has now been added to the roster!

Seventeen year old forward Nicholas Porco has been added to this year’s Canada’s Under-18 Selection Camp roster.

Porco, who was drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the 1st round (4th overall) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, had 5 goals and 14 points in 57 regular season with the Spirit during the 2017-2018 regular season.

The seventeen year old will replace Penticton Vees forward Massimo Rizzo, who is unable to attend this year’s camp due to an injury.

Porco will be one of forty four players attending this camp in Calgary on July 28th.

In 2017, Porco became just the second Sooite to be drafted in the first round by the Saginaw Spirit since Zack Torquato (2005).
