Cambrian Dental has a new dentist, bringing a new and unique skill set to the team.
Dr. Saurabh Chhabra, originally from New Dehli, spends three days a week doing dental work in Sault Ste. Marie, with the other days in Toronto. Travelling back and forth to meet the needs of patients, he is very passionate about the care he provides.
He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery in 2005, as well as his Master’s Degree in Prosthetic Dentistry in 2010.
Having experienced working in the dental field in both Canada and India, Dr. Chhabra has worked in culturally diverse and extremely busy offices, helping him to fine tune his skills. Comparing the two systems, he said “Here, we are more systematic in terms of how we approach the patient. In India, waiting rooms are packed and there are no appointments. You just walk in, first come first serve. Here, I know how much time I have with each patient and everyone gets their time with the dentist. It takes a load off my mind.”
Specializing in prosthetics, Dr. Chhabra can tell his patients what teeth can be saved, what should be removed, what is missing and how it can be replaced. “After I determine what is missing, I give patients their options and create a plan according to the needs, expectations, and financial situation of the patient. I want to help them meet their needs and expectations.”
His favourite part of the job? The satisfaction of getting to give people back some teeth and see the impact it has on their life. “They are so appreciative, especially older people who have had teeth their whole lives and now have to lose them. Even just getting them two or three teeth back can make the world of a difference,” Dr. Chhabra told SaultOnline.
Dr. Chhabra is married with a new born son, Jahsh.
He is proud to offer services in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
