In the early morning hours of August 24th, 2018, Sault Ste. Marie fire crews responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of East Champagne Dr.
Three occupants from the home were outside on the fire crews arrival.
As a result of the fire, one male occupant sustained injuries and has been transferred to Sault Area Hospital.
Deputy Chief – Paul Milosevich stated, “SSM Fire inspectors are currently investigating the fire and awaiting the arrival of the Ontario Fire Marshals office. The fire is not considered suspicious”.
A early morning fire in the east end caused extensive damage to a home and sent three people to the hospital.
Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services were called to the fire at the corner of Queen St. E. and Millwood Ave. at approximately at 5:00am.
An officer at the scene told SaultOnline that two of the people sent to hospital were suffering from smoke inhalation. The third person is believed to be more seriously injured and have burn injuries to the upper part of the body as well as smoke inhalation.
