Greyhounds Name New Athletic Therapist

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this morning the addition of Julian Cooper to the club in the position of Athletic Therapist.

“We look forward to Julian joining our hockey program. Julian will be a tremendous asset to our players in their development, both on and off the ice. We strive for our players to be the best version of themselves and feel that Julian will be a great resource to help accomplish this goal” stated Raftis.

The Montreal, QUE native most recently worked as the Head Athletic Therapist and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with Okanagan Hockey Academy Europe in St. Polten, Austria.

There Cooper was tasked with working with over 80 amateur hockey players from twenty different countries.

He has been a member of Okanagan Hockey Academy, working in their program in Canada and abroad since August of 2013.

Julian comes to the Greyhounds as a Certified Athletic Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with extensive experience in maintaining the health of and developing hockey players.  He possesses strong skills in musculoskeletal injury assessment, prevention and rehabilitation and is committed to the long-term development of elite athletes.

Julian rounds out a busy summer of hirings by GM Raftis leading into the team’s Training Camp 2018 which begins this Tuesday, August 28.
