Hounds back on ice

This may have been the shortest offseason we’ve had in years, but now the Hounds are getting set to hit the ice.

The defending Western Conference champion Soo Greyhounds will begin their 2018 Training Camp this Tuesday at the newly named GFL Memorial Gardens.

Not only is the arena name new, but there will also be three new faces behind the bench this year for the Hounds, including Jamie Tardif (Assistant Coach), Jordan Smith (Associate Coach) and John Dean (Head Coach).

A total of 57 players are expected to be in the Soo for this year’s Training Camp, which will run from August 28th-31st.

This year’s camp will feature three teams, including Team Red, Team White and Team Black.

GOALIES: Kyle McNair, Justin McIntyre and Nolan Dekoning

DEFENCEMEN: Kobe Seguin, Brandon Benham, Chris Clark, Anthony DeMeo, Jacob LeGuerrier and Robert Calisti

FORWARDS: Declan Hilton, Cameron Scrivens, Cullen McLean, Dominic Mufarreh, Keeghan Howdeshell, Justin Jamer, Connor Guest, Cole MacKay, Barrett Hayton and Brett Jacklin

FORWARDS: Tye Kartye, Roman Pucek, Morgan Frost, Jake Rauch, Nate Boomhower, Ryan Waltman, Mason Dregger, Theo Todd, Alex Johnston and Alex Liparoti

(TEAM BLACK)

DEFENCEMEN: Matt Halushak, Michael Grace, Cam McLean, Cole McGuire, Mac Hollowell and Phil Caron

FORWARDS: Noah Boman, Ryan Roth, Dan Ebrahim, Kalvyn Watson, Caleb Wood, Tyson Tomasini, Zack Trott, Joe Carroll, Finn Brown and Rory Kerins

Overage players at this year’s camp, include goaltender Tyler Johnson, defencemen Mac Hollowell and Jordan Sambrook and forward Keegan Howdeshell.
