Mental Health Talk with Algoma U and the CMHA: Student Living

Are you going away to school this fall? Perhaps for the very first time? Or maybe you are a parent who is sending their child off to school for the first time?

Well, the Sault’s branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association and Algoma University have some tips for you.

Karen Hudson, Student Success and Well-Being Manager from AU and Lisa Carricato, Mental Health Educator through CMHA, have some tips and tricks to ensure a smooth transition for students who are facing the challenge and stress of starting school away from home in September, and parents who may be dealing with empty-nest syndrome.

Even if it isn’t your first time going away to school or sending off a child, the stress, anxiety and loneliness that can sometimes accompany this time of year may be affecting you. CMHA and Algoma U wants you to know that there are supports in place.
