Pole Fire near St. Georges Hill & Grand Street. Power Interruption in Progress

Superior Media has learned that there was a pole fire in the city’s central region, specifically St. Georges hill at Grand Blvd. and Alberta/McNabb Street(s).

The roads are currently blocked in that area to allow for crews to work.

Sault Firefighters are on the scene. The PUC has been dispatched to the affected area. Citizens are advised to find an alternate route for the time being.

Power had to be shut off to customers in the immediate vicinity. PUC Crews are continuing to investigating the outage in the area of Elmwood, Cameron, Blake from McNabb to Wawanosh. There are approximately 204 households affected by the power outage.

The PUC are requesting that if you have any information leading to the cause of the outage or other concerns please call the PUC emergency number at 759-6555.
