With the Soo Greyhounds getting set to kick off their 2018-2019 regular season tomorrow night in Saginaw, the club has announced that one of their prospects will be wearing the red and white this season.
The Hounds have announced yesterday that 18 year old left winger Roman Pucek has committed to the club.
Pucek, who was selected by the Hounds in the first round (58th overall) in this year’s Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, spent last season with the HC Vsetin U18 club, where he led them in scoring with 26 goals and 73 points in 41 games.
He also played 4 games last season with the VHK Vsetin, where he had 0 goals and 2 assists.
The Vsetin, Czech Republic native attended Toronto Maple Leafs Training Camp this month as a free agent, before he was re-assigned to the Hounds this past Sunday.
Pucek, who stands 6’2 and 168 lbs, becomes the first Czech player to suit up for the Hounds since Tomas Rachunek (2008-2010).
