Suspects drive through store, steal bank machine in central Ont., police allege


ERIN, Ont. — Provincial Police say they’re looking for at least three suspects after a bank machine was stolen from a store in central Ontario.

OPP say the alleged theft took place shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday when a witness reported seeing a pickup truck drive through a glass storefront in Erin, Ont.

Police allege at least three suspects, one of whom was wearing a helmet with a face shield, dragged the bank machine out of the store and made off with it.

They allege two vehicles, a stolen pickup truck and an black Lincoln SUV, were used in the theft.

Police say they do not yet have an estimate as to how much cash was taken or the extent of the property damage.

They say the investigation is still in its early stages and are calling on anyone with information to come forward.
