Look What’s Closed on Monday


The City of Sault Ste. Marie reminds residents of schedule changes for the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, October 8.

The following facilities and services will be closed October 8:

Roberta Bondar Marina is closed for the season

Cemetery office

Public Libraries – James L. McIntyre Centennial and Korah Branch Library

City Landfill site and Household Hazardous Waste Depot

Civic Centre

Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site

GFL Memorial Gardens (administrative office, Box Office and areana)

John Rhodes Community Centre arena and McMeeken Centre arena

Northern Community Centre

Public Works & Engineering office For 24 hour emergency service requests, call 705.759.5201.

Sault Transit service will not operate. Main office is closed.

Seniors Drop In Centre and the Northern Community Centre and Seniors 55+

Refuse & Recycling:  No collection on Monday, October 8. Collection for the balance of the week will be one day late. The City landfill is closed on this day and open the remainder of the week (Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

The following facilities and services will operate October 8:

Bellevue Marina will be open from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Remaining hours of operation are posted on the site at the marina.

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool: open 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. for Parent/Child/Lane swim and 1– 3 p.m. for Public swim

Sault Parabus: call 705.942.1404 for bookings

Also closed on Monday are Social Services offices; including Ontario Works, Housing Services and Early Years Services; will be closed on Monday, October 8th in recognition of Thanksgiving.

Regular Social Service operations will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
