After dropping a 4-0 decision to the Western Mustangs last Sunday in London and losing their third straight game, the Algoma University Thunderbirds men’s soccer team was back in action on Saturday afternoon as they took on the York University Lions at Superior Heights.
The Thunderbirds, who entered Saturday afternoon’s game with a record of 0 wins, 9 losses and 1 tie, took on a Lions team that came in with a record of 7 wins, 0 losses and 3 ties.
On Saturday afternoon, the Thunderbirds got blanked by a score of 2-0 against the York University Lions at Superior Heights.
Omar Marzouk had both goals for the Lions.
Goalkeeper Mike Argyrides recorded the shutout for the Lions.
Goalkeepers Emmanuel Aigbukor and Kevin Picard split time in goal in the Thunderbirds loss.
The men’s Thunderbirds will be back in action this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. for a rematch against the Lions at Superior Heights.
