It’s municipal election season and the first televised Mayoral debate is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2 at 7pm
The 90 minute debate to be held at Superior Heights High School on Second Line is open to the public – 150 seats available. ONNtv will broadcast the debate live at 7pm and repeat the entire program at 9pm. (please note, no cellphones are allowed)
ONNtv’s Lou-Anne Young and Tim Murphy will host the show with questions stemming from the ranks of the Sault Ratepayers.
The focus will be on, but not limited to the following general topics outlined in the Municipal Councilor’s Guide 2014 including
• Accountability and Transparency
• Core Services
Candidates and public are invited to submit topics they wish to raise in the debate. Please email [email protected]
The candidates will be provided with a lecture stand, on the stage, from which they will have full access to roam as wireless microphones will be provided to address the panel, the audience and the video cameras.
Candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves. The order of address will be drawn by lots (1, 2, 3, and 4) with #1 addressing the assembly first. Closing remarks will be for two minutes with the address being based on the original draw in this order (2.4, 1, and 3).
The fun continues later this week with the first of five debates scheduled for high noon on Thursday. ONNtv will host all the ward debates from our studios with partnership with the Sault Association of Ratepayers. Each debate airs live at 12 noon and then repeated that evening at 7:30 pm .
