Women’s Thunderbirds get blanked by York

After dropping an 8-0 decision to the Western Mustangs last Sunday in London, the Algoma University Thunderbirds women’s soccer team was back in action at Superior Heights yesterday afternoon as they took on the York University Lions.

The women’s Thunderbirds record fell to 0 wins, 10 losses and 1 tie on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a 1-0 decision to the Lions.

Kalifornia Mitchell’s third goal of the season at the 68:00 mark of the game, was the only goal for the Lions.

Goalkeeper Tamara Orlando recorded the shutout for the Lions while Khadyja Claxton made 11 saves in the Thunderbirds loss.

The women’s Thunderbirds are back in action at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon for a rematch against the Lions at Superior Heights.

  1. So much for giving all those scholarships to the recruits from down south. Should have spent the money on local women.
