Rock your Ribbon for World AIDS Day

HIV Awareness Week (November 21- December 1st) is here and the HIV/AIDS Resource Program (HARP) at Group Health Centre are focusing on U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable).

If you are HIV Positive and take proper, effective treatment consistently to suppress your virus to undetectable levels (you have an undetectable viral load), you have a negligible risk of passing HIV. HIV Awareness Week kicks off the start of Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week (December 1st – December 6th) with World AIDS Day on December 1st.

The HARP team are encouraging the community to Rock your Ribbon to show support for people living with HIV/AIDS. Posters with signature red ribbons have been distributed to multiple locations across the Algoma District including Elliot Lake, Blind River, Sault Ste. Marie, Sault College, Algoma University, Neighbourhood Resource Centre and various social service organizations around Sault Ste. Marie.

Pull a ribbon off and wear it to show your support for those living with HIV/AIDS and commemorate those who have passed.
