SSMEDC Gives Update on Economic Development

Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Daniel Hollingsworth came into the ONNtv studios to give an update on what the EDC has been up to and what is in store in terms of economic development and tourism opportunities for the Sault within the coming months.

With the sale of Searchmont to Wisconsin Resorts Inc., a company with extensive experience in operating resorts and other commercial properties, the EDC believes that the sale will continue the positive trend of major improvements and community involvement that Searchmont has seen since it was purchased by the EDC in 2014.

Hollingsworth also mentioned that Sault Ste. Marie is still in the running for the ferochrome smelter with Noront.
