M.P. Terry Sheehan sat down with Lou Anne Young to talk about the Private Members Motion he brought forward to investigate the nature of precarious work and the effects it has on workers and the economy.
Precarious work are permanent positions that are filled by contract, temporary or part time employees.
More positions are being filled this way, leaving the workers with lower wages, no benefits and unstable employment.
Sheehan’s Motion asks the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (HUMA) to define precarious work and its effects on workers.
