One Male Arrested & One Male Wanted for Possession of Stolen Property

On December 31st, 2018 offices with the Break and Enter Unit of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32 year old Tyler Seaton of Albert Street East on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.

It is alleged that on October 26th, 2018 the accused and a second male, 32 year old Thomas Kidder of Sault Ste. Marie were in possession of a 22 caliber rifle that was reported stolen from a break and enter earlier in October.

It is further alleged that Mr. Kidder was in possession of other pieces of property that were reported stolen from a number of other break and enters.

A warrant was requested for both males and Mr. Seaton was taken into custody on December 31st, 2018.  He has been charged with;

  • One count of possession of stolen property,
  • One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • One count of possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized,
  • 2 counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a court order, and;
  • One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

He was held for WASH court.  Mr. Kidder is currently wanted for multiple offences including;

6 counts of possession of stolen property,

  • Careless storage of a firearm,
  • One count of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • One count of possession of a firearm knowing it’s possession is unauthorized,
  • 2 counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to a court order, and;
  • One count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
