The Special Olympics Ontario are Underway!

The GFL Memorial Gardens are welcoming in the more than 2,000 Olympians, their families, and the public Thursday night to kick off the first night of Special Olympics Ontario in Sault Ste. Marie. The event is open to the public for FREE (as is the entirety of the Olympics!) and the Opening ceremonies begin tonight at 7:30.

Parking at this time is limited at Memorial Gardens due to the fire scene close by – parking is still available in numerous parking lots close to GFL Memorial Gardens.

The three days of activities spans from January 31st – Feb 2nd, with the first night dedicated to the opening ceremonies and the rest being used for competitions.

The event is expected to draw in more than 1 million dollars into the city’s economy.
