City Responds To Freezing Rain Concerns

With the significant freezing rain conditions and decreasing temperatures, the City’s would like to provide the following updates and reminders.

– Garbage collection and recycling scheduled for Tuesday will be cancelled. Next
Tuesday’s collection shall allow for a four a (4) bag limit for those routes affected.

– As of 8 p.m. Transit Services will end for the evening. Operations are expected to
resume as normal tomorrow morning.

– All programming at City arenas and the Northern Community Centre will be closed for
the remainder of the evening.

– Motorists are reminded to drive according to the conditions and allow space for heavy
equipment operators to clear and sand roadways safely and efficiently.

– Pedestrians are cautioned of slippery conditions on sidewalks due to the decreasing
temperatures.

– The parking by-law remains in effect with motorists not permitted to park on city streets
during the winter months between midnight and 6 a.m.
