City Responds To Hudson Street Fire

Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services continue to contain the fire that has been burning at 89 Hudson St. since last evening.

All citizens are asked to avoid the area until the fire has been brought under control. Emergency response units are on the scene and in the process of dealing with the incident.

The Korah Road transit route has been redirected and will be using Huron and Albert inbound and outbound. Please contact City Transit at 705-759-5438 for additional information.

Red Cross is on scene to assist those impacted by the fire.

The incident is currently being jointly managed by the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM),  Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services and Sault Ste. Marie Police Services.

The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks residents for their patience and understanding during this time. More details will be provided as they become available.

  1. It appears that nobody was injured which is a good thing, as far as the building it was an eyesore and most will be glad to see it gone.

    • Although I believe every city needs little spice, the building was very ugly and the first thing people saw coming off the bridge. Sad that people had to call that home, and hope that the people displaced find a safe home to call home
