UPDATE: Power Out Downtown


UPDATE 8:32 PM: Power to all customers in the downtown area has been restored.

UPDATE 7:28 PM: Power has been restored to 1943 customers. The line crews are currently investigation a power out in the downtown area affecting 60 customers.

UPDATE 6:23 PM:  PUC report that over 1200 customers have had their power restored as of 6:23 pm, another 802 customers are still without power. No details on what caused the power outage.


The Sault Ste. Marie PUC tells SaultOnline.com that over 2,000 customers in the downtown area are without power.

In a release, the PUC say they have yet to determine the outage and crews are working on restoring power.  Power was lost in a wide area of the downtown at around 5:24 pm.
