Are you interested in becoming a volunteer?
Sault Community Career Centre is a recognized leader in the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees to Sault Ste. Marie. Refugee families are settling successfully, thanks to SCCC’s network of volunteers, partner organizations, and businesses. However, with additional families on the way, the need for more volunteers remains urgent.
As a volunteer, what will your role be?
You’ll be able to provide guidance to refugee families through their transition and to offer assistance with common everyday tasks. You might help collect household items like towels and blankets, provide transportation to places like the grocery store or the bank, assist them with travel to medical and dental appointments, visit with them, or accompany them to welcome events in the community. Through their involvement, volunteers help create a supportive community around newcomers that make them feel welcomed and connected.
If you are interested in volunteering with SCCC’s New to the Sault program, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Brenda Cooper via email, or by calling 705.542.9088.
