~ 1927 – 2019 ~ It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Carmine Melchionna suddenly, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. His wish finally came true: to be reunited with the love of his life, the late Ermelinda, wife of 60 years.

Best friend, confidant, teacher and dearly loved father of Marie Bruno (Tony). Beloved Nonno of Melinda Bruno.

Son of the late Maria Carolina and the late Angelo Michele Melchionna. Brother of Rocco Melchionna (late Maria Rosaria) of Sault Ste. Marie, the late Angelina Davino (late Michele), Clelia Melchionna (late Antonio), and Salvatore Melchionna (Clelia) all from Sturno, Avellino, Italia.

Zio Carmine will be missed by his many nieces, and nephews especially Lena Cipriano, Angela Alagia, Connie Pilot and Ida Ceresoli.

Carmine was a proud survivor of World War II and made a tough decision to better his life by coming to Canada. He had a long career working for Algoma Central Railway. Upon retirement, Carmine enjoyed making and sharing wine, sausages and bread. You could always find him tending to his vegetable garden early in the morning or late at night. Carmine was a carpenter by trade and loved to build things and was always tinkering with something.
