On March 29, 2019 members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Highway 17 within Tarbutt-Tarbutt Additional Township.
Shortly before 2:00 a.m., police observed tail lights of a tractor trailer going westbound in an eastbound lane on Highway 17’s divided highway. A traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, the male driver Daljeet SINGH, 26 years of age from Calgary, Alberta was charged with:
- Drive Wrong Way- Divided Highway, contrary to section 156(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act.
Officers assisted the driver to get the tractor back into the westbound lane.
