AlgomaTrad Presents Champion Fiddlers Jane Cory and Kyle Burghout


AlgomaTrad presents Canadian Fiddle Champions Jane Cory and Kyle Burghout ( in concert on Thursday, May 23, 7:30PM at the Old Town Hall in Richards Landing. Jane Cory, 2018 Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champion, and Kyle Burghout (, North American Irish Fiddle Champion, have been performing for over a decade, and have played to audiences across Canada, the USA, and Europe.

Growing up in areas with rich fiddling traditions—Cory in Manitoba and Burghout in the Ottawa Valley—Jane and Kyle’s shows feature a blend of the traditional tunes they were raised on as well as contemporary tunes composed by fiddlers from across Canada and beyond, including many compositions of their own. Cory and Burghout also draw on their backgrounds in classical music to create lush harmonies and exciting arrangements, ranging from lyrical waltzes and airs to toe-tapping jigs and reels.

Jane Cory and Kyle Burghout perform with Cape Breton pianist Tyson Chen ( and with 5x Canadian Open Step Dance Champion and guitarist Kyle Waymouth (, who wowed the audience at the 2018 AlgomaTrad Staff Concert with his amazing dancing and guitar-playing.

AlgomaTrad is a not-for-profit arts organization that is dedicated to the sharing, celebration, and learning of traditional music, dance, art and craft that embrace our Canadian heritage.  AlgomaTrad’s priorities are inclusivity and building multi-generational community through these living heritage arts. AlgomaTrad hosts community dances, concerts, and workshops throughout the year, a week-long family-friendly traditional music, dance and arts camp each August, and educational programs in local schools.
